Basic oven meatballs
(makes 6 dozen)

Prepare a head and freeze. Use later for spaghetti and meatballs, meatball sandwiches, or use in the sweet-sour meatball recipe.

3 beaten eggs
¾ cup milk
3 cups soft bread crumbs ( about 4 ½ slices)
½ cup finely chopped onion
2 teaspoons salt
3 lbs. Ground beef

In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well. Shape into 6 dozen 1-inch balls. Place on baking pan ( maybe ½ at a time) bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from pan, cool. Repeat with remaining meatballs. Place cooled meatballs on a cookie sheet; freeze until firm. Place 12 to 24 meatballs in a freezer bag, seal and label.
