| Peanut Butter

A
peanut butter and chocolate treat
Ingredients
1 c.sugar
1/2 c. chunky peanut butter
1/2 c. Shortening
2 T. milk
1 egg
1/4 c. all-purpose flour (sifted)
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 6 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolates
1.)Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Place sheets of foil on countertop for cooling cookies or
use cooling racks.
2.)In a large bowl, cream shortening
and sugar till light and fluffy .
3.)Sift together flour, soda,
salt, stir into creamed mixture.
4.)Place dough on lightly floured
waxed paper. With a lightly floured rolling pin, roll into
a 15 x 18" rectangle.Melt chocolate over hot water. Spread
over dough.
5.)Roll the dough like a jelly
roll, lifting wax paper slightly with each turn. Chill 20-30
min. Dough should be firm, but chocolate should not be so
hard that it breaks when slicing.
6.)Slice cookies 1/4" thick;
place on ungreased cookie sheet, bake at 375 degrees 8-10
mins. Cool slightly before removing from pan.
