The Smithsonian Institution
Museums are a must for any
Washington
D.C.
traveler. For a time saver we stopped for lunch in the Natural
History Museum food court. (they have McDonald's). The food
was good and the prices weren't outrageous. The
Air & Space Museum is awesome and the kids really enjoyed
it. Next head for the memorials and monuments (Be prepared to
walk). Then go by the Capitol Building and the White House for
great photo opportunities. If you have time don't forget to
see the Changing
of the Guard at Arlington National Cemetery (Again it's
quite a walk, but worth it ). Best of all there is no entrance
fees for any of the Smithsonian Museums, memorials, monuments
or the National zoo.
The last time we visited the zoo was also free. With this in
mind you can afford to eat lunch in a convenient location, and
you will walk off any calories eaten.
