Home remedies*

To dry pimples

Apply witch hazel it's an all purpose skin soother.

Soothe insect bites

Make a paste out of baking soda and water by rubbing a teaspoon of it in your hand. Apply to bites as needed.

For itchy skin

Sprinkle baking soda generously into warm (not hot, because it dries out the skin) bath water, mix, soak for 15 minutes.

Relieve a sore throat

Mix 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in an 8 ounce glass of water, and gargle four times a day.

Athlete's foot or hemorrhoids

Apply apple cider vinegar full strength

Indigestion

Believe it or not hot sauce quiets indigestion. For occasional digestive complaints, mix up to a teaspoon of hot sauce ( containing cayenne or chile peppers) into food twice a day.

Cracked feet

Try a petrolatum vapor rub like Vicks. It softens dry, cracked feet and the eucalyptus oil, camphor and menthol can relieve pain and itching. Apply to both feet before bed, slip on a pair of cotton socks. Repeat every night for a week or so. Discontinue if skin becomes irritated. Don't apply to open sores or between toes.
